Taming

Taming Charlotte was very easy.

We let her on her own the first day, so that she could get acquainted with our voices, her cage and her new surrounding.

The day after, we enticed her with seeds we held in our hands, and she took them at once.

And everything came step by step, she got used to us, and we to her.

Now, she spends most of her time with us, during our meals (nibbling at crumbs or stealing food from our plates) and our leisure time.

Taming Leo took us much more time. First, we could not even touch him. He was terrified, especially by our hands. When he went out of the cage (since we let him go out even the first days), we had to get him perch on a stick to put him back in the cage. He had understood that we would not hurt him with the stick, and he was probably happy to go back in the cage where he felt secure. At that stage, we could not put our hand into the cage when he was inside. After a few weeks, he tried to do like Charlotte: he started to perch on our fingers, and to accept seeds from us. Now, he is not afraid anymore, and he likes being with us.
